A NEW RESIDENCE AT THE PH
Finding an extra piece of wood in the maintenance shop, Lee Bugbee, the lead grounds person at the Provincial House, decided to put it to practical use and build a small bird house. Needing some good weather- proof materials for the roof, Lee cleverly decided to use some very old license plates that had discarded years ago. The interesting part about the use of the plates was that they were from different states where the Daughters have ministered over the years in the USA. The finished product was appropriately placed near the statue of St.Francis in the Pavilion area. On the front part of the pole supporting the avian abode the following characters may be read: M-A-T-6-2-6, representing verse 26 of chapter 6 from the Gospel of St. Matthew: “The birds of the air neither sow nor reap, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not more valuable than these?”
Thus our little bird house is known to all around the PH as “The Matthew House” We invite you all to look for it when you come to visit us and to allow it and its feathered residents remind you of the trust and confidence that the we are all invited to place in our loving God.
