DHS Shared Mission

SHARED MISSION / MINISTRY:
A sign of God's love in the world

We members of the DHS Family offer ourselves to the Spirit quite simply, with our giftedness and our weaknesses, allowing ourselves to be challenged, changed and uprooted by the unpredictable Spirit of God. We collaborate with others in the fields of education, health care, pastoral and social services, giving priority to the needs of women, children and youth and the underserved in our society. Our outreach to others is often expressed in small, seemingly insignificant human gestures. We have few institutional commitments and are recognized more by the quality of our presence than by our specific works. "Whatever the situation, in full activity, in retirement, in sickness, in suffering, and even in failure, we can always live our mission as Daughters of the Holy Spirit" to be a sign of God's compassionate love in today's world.

“Whatsoever you do to one of these least of my
brothers and sisters, you do to me.” Matthew 25

Our quality of presence
is marked by:
Simplicity and openness
gentleness
humility
genuine concern

Each in our own way,
we commit ourselves to concrete ways
of fostering life.

How is the Spirit calling you
to partner with us?

". . . living at the center of society, to leaven it; at the bottom of society, to speak for it; and on the edge of society, to critique it."
